Caliper bolt hole thread shagged

Changed my tyres on the NC30 today and had lots of problems with the rear caliper and one of the fronts.
The blanking plug in the rear caliper sliding pin hole had seized and nothing would budge it, so i ended up drilling the silly thing out.
Then when fitting the front nearside caliper the thread in the lower mounting bolt hole decided it had had enough.

So what do you folks think would be the best course of action?
Should i tap the hole to M10 size (original is M8) and fit an M10 bolt, or the alternative which is to get another fork leg?
Problem is aggravated by the fact that i can't find my tap and die set anywhere.

Nevr used that method before.
Does that mean i have to tap the hole out bigger and then fit an insert?

I'm not sure what pitch the thread on the caliper bolts are.

Standard m8 pitch 1.25 off the top of my head.

For me, if I had an m10 thread cutter handy, I'd be tapping it bigger. But this will then no longer look original and you can't go back from it.

There isnt a lot of metal spare on them fork legs and with breaking forces id be reluctant to drill and tap at m10
