Have a strange issue with my type 8 , chasing Ricky when leaving cosford yesterday the bike just gave up on me.

Considering i had been traveling at decent speed on the way up there with no issues it seemed odd.

I was in 6th gear just over 10k rpm and it died , wouldn't rev and sounded like it had dropped to 3 cylinders , gave it a couple of mins to idle and all was good. It also happened to me again on the way home but when i stay bellow 10k rpm it is fine and runs lovely .

Also at lower rpm's the throttle is very snatchy , the bike did have an ignitech fitted and has a full micron so i assume the carbs have been played with.

Im guessing that im going to take them off but what sort of settings should it be running .

I had that on my Seed, check the carbs but mine was the rubber flap was missing, fitted it and it sorted it instantly.

I will have a look for the flap , never thought about that.

I hope it aint the carbs as i really cant be bothered to strip them.

Well I suspect you will have to if it was running a full micron. Unless you put the micron back on. But to be honest it's easier to set the carbs to exhaust.

the micron is still on it , just the ignitech that i removed , i didnt think that would affect how the carbs had been jetted for the system.

Or they have just plonked the micron on and not touched the carbs?

considering the other bits and bobs that were fitted to the bike and the bloke i bought it from seemed quite swithched on i would assume that it had been done.

I have a standard system to go on at some point so theres no point in setteing the carbs for the micron if its coming off at some point .

Just found this from the advert when i bought it.

' Carbs fitted with RO replica needles and various Honda cottage cheese screws replaced with stainless allen screws. '

RO replica needles what are they? Lol .

Get them apart for a quick clean and set up and get them back on. Check the rubber flap whilst they are off too

Well it's got a rubber flap so it must be carb related .
