Ive gone for a bigger sprocket on the back. I'd just like to know if the hub or adjustment part should do a complete turn. It was as tight as hell and i got peeved of working at it, i even bent the tool. I've it turned clockwise as much as it would go but its still too tight. If i take the chain off and rotate it a full turn the other way should that give me more slack? I'm only asking to save time and dont think my adjustment tool will take too much more abuse.

How large have you gone??

44 is the most and even then I suspect there is not enough adjustment to sort it properly.

It is a 44 with 14 on the front. Think i'll try rotating the hub the other way and see if that helps. Does anyone know if going anti clockwise as far as it goes will give more slack?
I won't be able to run the bike the way it is now, its so tight the rear suspension doesn't work as it should

I wouldn't rotate that hub too much it will cock up the ride height and feel.

If your using hard links on the chain why not add a link or two to do it properly

I would add links but i don't have any or the rivet tool. I'm out racing tomorrow so i might just have to go back to the 40t.
If i was going to be changing gearing for different tracks surely you don't have to start adding and removing links?

I guess if the chain is the right length it could be adjusted to cover 14t-40t up to 14t- 44t ?

No - I reckon you'd be better getting a 42 and doing it rihgt. 44 is too tight close to the extremes of the swinger.

If you start rotating the hub too far then you can end up with the ride height reduced too much. remember that you are losing height and gaining length the further back you rotate the hub - so slowing steering and losing ground clearance.

14/44 would be a super revvy ratio too - prob not get 110 in 6th.
