How-zit chaps

This is my first post on this forum so I hope it goes well.

I have been checking the net for the last couple of weeks and cant find the info i need

A mate of mine came up with this Idea of a custom project for my NC35 and his NC30,which caught my attention quite quickly. he is going for the TYGA kit, me on the other hand has decided to go a completely different route.

I want to put a 180/60/17 without any heavy modification due to insurance rules here in South Africa, I`m also doing a CBR1000RR kit with a couple of mods still to be sorted,

How do i go about doing the 180/60/17 conversion

thank you MAV

fit a 5.5" wheel and space the chain over, can't see why you'd want to do it tho as 160 tyres are readily available

Hi.

Welcome to the forum. Can I ask why the hell you want to put a 180 tyre on a NC? The handling will be awful!!

You don't

Welcome to the forum - though you have to be taking the piss a touch? a 180/60 is a massive balloon tyre compared to the 150/60 that would be on a std RVF.

An option - fit a CB1000r swinger to it...but really, don't bother.

It is like getting a shot putter to run or getting a sprinter to weightlift. Not designed for it, won't work at all.

Thanks for the reply

This mod is purely for looks the bike is not really going for any track riding or anything hectic handling is needed for its more of a show bike for my wifes graphics design company when they doing exhibitions and shows which is every weekend and some days in the week.

there is a custom fearing kit coming on as well so its a bit of a mash

thanks MAV

I could go and take a picture if you want but a lot of nc's now run 160's so finding a pic won't be hard, have a look in the gallery section.

As for a 180 rear it is possible with the standard swinger and I've even known of someone using it on track.

Im using a 5.5" wheel and running a 160 tyre without any spacer kit or thinner 520 chain conversion.

I would imagine a 5.5" wheel with 180 tyre will need both the Rick Oliver chain spacer kit and 520 conversion to allow for the extra width.

You can email Rick Oliver (who will be able to provide prices/info for his kit) on ricknc30*at*googlemail*dot*com
