Front sprocket free play?

Hey all. Another noob question. One of the last jobs on my project nc23 is a new set of chain and sprockets. I've fitted the new renthal front sprocket and it's tight. But there is very slight side to play between the sprocket and the output shaft. Is this normal with renthals? What could be the problem?
Cheers
Matt

Shouldn't be any lateral play at all. Are you sure it's the fit of the sprocket and not the output shaft moving? It could well be the output shaft oil seal needs replacing.

Output shaft is fine. Was fine with old sprocket. It's like the renthal is made slightly too thin. Here's a video. Excuse the noise of the gennie. It's a good mil of play along the shaft :/

Have a look and see if there is any difference between the original sprocket and the renthal one.
Only mentioning this as when i changed mine i received a front sprocket that was not intended for my bike so i rang renthal up (or whoever i bought it from) and they apologised and sent me the correct sprocket for my bike

It's for a vfr. But I got it from Greame France who i trust knows what goes and what doesn't. I'll give him a ring tomorrow anyway. Maybe it's been manufactured out of spec? I don't know

Ah! I see what you mean now, I wasn't quite sure before. Have you replaced the washer behind the bolt head?

The large flat washer? No. Should I?
Could I just wack another washer on there to take up the slack? I know it's not ideal but if it does the job I don't see the harm aha

I'm 99.9% sure there should be a lock washer behind the bolt head. Maybe someone can confirm?

No there is no lock washer.
My sprocket has a bit of free play but not that much, have you spoken to Graeme?

Didn't get chance. Work was mental. Just gonna stick a repair washer behind the standard nut and washer. Can't see the harm. Not the best mod but no one is gonna see it. Haha
