Hi Guys

Fitted my new bell mouths, and now trying to get the Air Duct assembly back on. but i'm having real problems with it, i get one nearly almost on but the others are so far away from locating the dowel pins, I've tried pushing and pulling (Read the Haynes manual) but had to walk away before i got to cheesed off as i don't want to damage the bell mouths...

Any advice on how to get this on easily would be greatly appreciated

Austin

The bit that on the HRC setup has all the holes drilled in it? Really stupid suggestion, it isn't on backwards is it? I tried to fit mine on backwards and had a similar problem (going back AGES though)

Checked it against my photographs, and it's the right way, the Haynes suggest getting one on a using the lockplates to keep them connected whilst trying to get the others pushed down...

Could try putting the outer screws in first, it should help if your carbs are twisting slightly, just do them a little at a time.

There's a philips head bolt on the left and right side of the set of carbs that hold them together. Loosen these off and it becomes much easier to get the top plate all lined up and back on. Tighten the bolts for the top plate that sit in the 'V' of the carbs first.

When doing up the 2 bolts you loosened it's a good idea to use threadlocker, if they work loose it will throw the balance out.
