IMHO, the worst modification out there for a road bike. Fine if you're on a race bike that never has fuel in the tank during storage.

I've lost count of the number of meets I've been at and riders who've done the HRC tap mod can't start their bikes because they're flooded after forgetting to switch the tap off.

My advice, get a proper repair kit and do the job properly.

They need to be looking at their float needles surely? I never had flooding issues myself doing this mod but then I always made sure my carbs were tip top condition too...

Ace is right, dont do it on a road bike. It doesnt need it and why would you wanna risk flooding your engine with petrol?

And no, I'm not interested in doing it myself - I have a traditional on/off/reserve tap on my NC21 and I'm very happy with it.

I recently rebuilt my fuel tap and considered the mod. I heard the flow was better but had leakage problems if the reserve switch was not fully on or off?

I've ran this mod for 4 years and never had an issue, each to their own I guess.

there's plenty of people that don't have a issue with it but why risk it? You only need full flow if your running flat out constantly. A standard motor will never need the mod even on track.
