Dunlop Sportmax GP Race Tyre's
I have been very kindly given a brand new (still have the sticker on) pair of Dunlop GP tyres off my uncle. My only worry is the front is a D211F Sportmax GP Racer and the rear is a D209GP Sportmax GP, I know for certain the front is obviously for racing use however, although the treads are pretty much same the rear is only stamped GP and not GP Racer like the front, does this mean it is for more road use or will it be ok for racing along side the front race tyre? The rear does feel a bit harder compound than the front, I'm not sure wether it will soften up after a few laps?
Although i am a novice and won't be riding very fast, I don't want lets say uneven grip causing danger to myself and others if that makes sence, so I thought it would be best to double check!
I am currently using Pirreli SuperCorsa Dragon Pro F&R which are now very old (2003) but seem to be very very good and gripy, although they have only been on the track 3 times so still have alot of life left in them for now!
Many thanks

I don't really know about these tyres but as a general thing the Dunlops are younger than the Perelli's so I'd favour them.
Have a look on the Dunlop website and see if it can give you some more info.

hi, the D209GP is a fast road tyre,ok for a track day ,but not what you really want if your racing.

Re: Dunlop Sportmax GP Race Tyre's
Thanks for the reply guys!
Think I am going to wait till someone puts a new rear 211 GP Racer up for sale on Ebay, then hopfully put my rear up for sale on ebay after then hopefully not loose out to much. I would buy a new rear but they are pricey, will have to see how the funds are when the time comes for new tyres
Thanks once again

Why not just put the rear on the bay, that way you've got the dosh for what you want
