Hi, the rebuild of no.1 400 bandit is on its way but one of the things that definitley needs replacing is the rear shock. Apart from buying a new Hagon/Nitron/Maxton (how much!!) does anyone have any experience of fitting shocks from other models (600 bandit, RGV250 (model?) etc.) that may still be usable as opposed to the 20 yr old one that has come off it?
Cheers,
Mike

Loads of the newer 600 shocks will fit with some work.
Most B4 owners fit the second gen B12 shock as this goes straight in and raises the rear a nice amount.

Just to clarify you mean a 2001(?) onwards 1200 bandit shock? Do people end up using the std. dog bones with that or shorter ones (which you would also normally use to raise the rear end) ? Saw the pics of your 400 bandit yesterday for the first time.....very nice, must have taken a lot of work to get it in that state.

There's quite a weight difference between the 4 and the 12. Unless you're built like the Incredible Hulk, surely you'd need to re-spring?

Does anyone happen to know if the aluminium swing arm from a 1994 VVT will fit in a 91 non VVT frame? Or is someone pulling my leg claiming to be selling an aluminium swing arm off a 94 400 bandit and they were actually steel and its off another bike!

Ive no idea of spring weights but this is a common swop on the bandit forums.
2nd gen B has an ally swinger that looks VERY similar to the SV's.
