IS THE FRAZER SCOTTISH?
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

The wheels you mention will need a some work to make them fit. You'd probably be better off with the swingarm and getting the whole back end to fi into the frame, it taks some cutting and you might need to sleeve the swingarm spindle bearings too.
There are some Yamaha wheels that will drop more or less straight in I think they're from the XJR but can't be sure.

The Fazer (and FZR600R, Thundercat, etc.) have a 5x17 wheel which will need the cushdrive shaving - you can flip the sprocket so the recess is on the wheel side which helps get the chain inline.
The disc will end up closer to the swingarm, even if you shave some off the mountings, which means caliper 'adaption'.
Can't remember the deal with the spindle, but you'll probably have to tweak something there.
Easier and lighter option is a FZR400RR (3TJ) 4.5x17.
