NC30/35 Cush Drive ? Ducati ?

Post by Mohawk » Fri Mar 09, 2012 6:37 pm

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if a Ducati 748/916 etc rear sprocket carrier will fit on the splines of a VFR/RVF rear axle ?

Thanks

Chris W.

I'm working on or rather have finished a VFR800 rear wheel conversion to single nut & used a VFR400 axle to achieve this. This has left me without a cush drive & whilst looking for a way to fit one I came across the Ducati 748/916/996 cush which may cure my issue, but only if it will fit on the VFR shaft splines !

Yes as stated it for a VFR 800 with VFR400 rear axle ! I've now managed to find the bearing sizes & the Ducati shaft is only 35mm OD verses the VFR/RVF400 which is 40mm OD, so the Ducati part won't fit.

I've done soem alternate thinking & will try to integrate the VFR800 inner splined cush drive unit with the Ducati 748/916 etc external sprocket carrier face plate & use a QD sprocket carrier so I can use Ducati sprockets ! Should work if the dimensions are within workable tolerances.

Yep, I read your thread properly :D

Interesting project you have going!

IF the Duc part is smaller is there any extra metal you can have turned out to make it fit?
