Problems Getting RVF Rims Painted...

Hey guys,

I got my rims from my old RVF powdercoated and they turned out well. I have a mate who does a lot of paint jobs for race cars who offered to do my wheels for my new RVF cheaply; however, he has painted them 3 times and they keep stuffing up. They have weird marks (sort of like bubbles) on them at various spots. It seems as though they're reacting with something that's in the metal of the rim..

Would the RVF rims just be made of alloy? Has anyone has a similar problem when getting wheels painted professionally, and any advice? He said he's tried 2 different primers and he's now going to try using a different paint.

Cheers

I've painted loads of NC alloys, there's nothing special about and I paint them the same as any other wheel. I take it he is using a etch primer on the bare metal?

Not sure mate, will ask him tomorrow. He said he's dumb-founded as he's a (car) smash repairer by trade and has never seen this problem...
