Probably one for the racers this one, is running this tyre combo likely to cause me any issues? On the search for mag wheels ive ended up with a 3" front and 5.5" rear so ideal tyre size is 110 160, or would i be better off fitting a 120 on the front?

No track use geoff, i may take it out for a play on sundays but no im mainly for the track

I have never run a 110 on the front, but i would think it will turn pretty fast. You may have to change the geometary - raise the front of the bike to compensate. may take a while to get the bike set up as it will be quite different to standard track setup. Well worth teh effort though if you get a set of mag wheels.

Ive heard of people using 3" rims and 110 fronts before, that doesnt bother me. Its using it with a 160 rear that concerns me as the norm is,

110 front 150 rear
120 front 160 rear

I think your right in what your saying that it'll make the bike much quicker to turn in, im ok with that :)

A lot of guys racing in Australia use the 160 rear because Bridgestone don't have a 150 slick available. I personally haven't used the 160 yet (I've always used 150 treaded tyres) but all the other guys seem to get on well with them, although they don't seem to use as much of the edge of the tyre as I do, and they're definitely not slower than me!!!!

Yeah I used to run 165 slicks on the standard 4.5" rim but it isn't recommended by bridgestone. To be honest most Aus racers run this combo and aside from the slightly strange/tall tyre profile they stuck like sh!t to a blanket and no handling issues.

Tony: I'm sure there would be nsr250 racebikes out there that have run the 110 front and 160 rear combo (since they use 3" front rim). It might be a question you could put to the nsr forum gang?
