hi, iv been having some trouble with my NC, ever since i serviced it its been dieing all the time, at first it just used to feel like i ran outa petrol so if i put it in reserve ans wait for a bit it would come back to life, but its been getting worse and worse, a few weeks after that happened, it started and ran fine for a few miles then just bogged down asif no petrol but it had a full tank, then finally lost all power like id hit the kill switch.
now when i start it with full choke, it sounds dog rough kinda like its missing and running on 2 cylinders, if i take the choke off a little it will cut out, it i give it a little throttle it will cut out, i can get it to revv but youve gota be soo soo carefull and coax the throttle in, and even when i get the revvs up theres no power behind them.
iv checked all the sparks abd they are near non existant, can just about see them, iv cut the end off the ht leads as the end connecting to the coil was a bit dodgy looking and that started fine that day, it actually ran ok that day, but now its having none of it
if tried putting the old plugs back in and theres no differance
when i serviced the bike i changed the air filter, oil filter, spark plugs, oil and the whole clutch assy
my dad seems to think the carbs could be well out of the coil pack/s could be breaking up inside

any help will be great

Brad..

Hiya,
have you tried checking the vacume pipe to the fuel tap? Make shore theres no kinks or cracks on the pipe(its the smaller of the pipes on the fuel tap).

Cheers

Ian

It goes to cylinder 3 (rear left as you sit on the bike) If it is knakerd or split (as mine was) replace it with some washer fluid hose from halfords, works well.

Also if it feels, as you said, like you hit the killswitch then check the killswitch connections for corrosion, just a thought..

Maybe there is something blocking the fuel getting through the tap such as rust in the filter or something. It does also sound like the carbs could do with a clean

Don't know anything bout coil packs breaking up, would have to wait for someone else to give advice about that lol.
