Equivalent part cross-reference anywhere?

Hi all,

Hello from Melbourne, this is my first post to this forum. I am the new happy owner of a '94 (I am told) NC30 race bike.

I was wondering if anybody knew of a list of equivalent parts for NC30s and other bikes. Like I am told that some parts are shared with some cbr600s and so on.

I want to do my own servicing, so I need regular replacement seals, o-rings, filters, gaskets, etc , but my first trip to the local (official) Honda dealer was a little dissapointing of the "we dont have that part number on our system" sort.

I was asking for a part from an official Honda NC30 parts catalogue I downloaded.

So, any parts cross-refernce to other models exist anywhere?

Greg.

G'day mate, welcome. We've all had the run around from Oz dealers when it comes to grey imports....

I don't think there's a complete list of compatible parts anywhere, it might be easier to ask on here about specific parts as a lot are common between models (eg oil filter, fork seals, bushes, bearings etc are the same as dozens of Hondas). If you're prepared to wait, you can get most parts online from David Silver Spares in the uk if you have the part number.

RB racing in Sydney (google them) also carry a lot of consumable items for these bikes and are good to deal with. :peace:

Thanks Cammo, appreciated. Good on you. I've heard of RB. I'll start there.

Yep, I can vouch for RB as well. They've always had everything I've needed (mainly consumables like gaskets and a heap of other stuff that I can't remember at the moment) and you'll get it the next day. I've also ordered stuff from Rick Oliver, highly recommended and genuinely nice guy who has helped me out with some obscure parts. Shipping probably takes about a week or so.

Are you going to be racing this year? I've been doing some rounds with Hartwell MCC and a couple rounds with Preston MCC.

Cool. Thanks. Racing, likely yes - with Preston. I was just researching it all today - In 2012, not only will the world end dramatically but I'll start 400cc club racing.

I have some questions about it all but am still waiting on "admin approval" to get onto their forums.

Look out for me. I'll be at the back of the pack being lapped whilst wearing a chicken costume.

Greg.

If you have a part number you could try Googling it; many retailers will have lists of their stock and not actually know what it's for. eBay works like that as well.

If you don't have a part number, CMSNL have a lot of parts diagrams and stock numbers which are pretty much essential for riders of older bikes (like us!). They're in the Netherlands; I haven't bought from them but I hear they're OK.

Chrissy's link is the go, I find that a lot of parts that I've replaced are still in Honda's system, so just try taking the part number in and see how you go.

If not and if you get a cool parts guy, he might have a look on their system for a similar part on a same year model bike, hence how I got my new indicator relay!

Other then that, you'll have to order in from england or asia, or try www.findapart.com.au, I've got a few things off of that from wreckers around the place.

After you have found the part number just call up a local Honda dealer, They will have or beable to get most parts as they are shared across the other models. Except the things related to piston and heads as we did not get a v4 down under.
