Hello guys and Kayla its cold out so decided to carry on with work on my Hybrid streetfighter and a mate has offered me a YZF750 swingarm complete, everything for a bargain price so I ask.....

What is needed to fit the arm is it a simple bolt on job or do I need to machine it to fit??
I would like to know before I take swinger out of my 3TJ ready for the swap over.

You need to narrow the pivot down from 246mm (I think!) to 222mm to get it to fit in the 400 frame. It can be done, but you need to use skinnier pivot bearings (it's how I fitted the TRX arm into my 3TJ). The brace on the top of the YZF arm means you can't use the R6 shock, and you might have to space the rearsets out a little bit. If you're doing it for looks (180 tyre on the 5.5" wheel) then go for it, it's pretty straightforward. Personally, I'd use a TRX arm (slightly narrower but you can still fit the 5.5" wheel and a 180 tyre) because they're loads lighter than the YZF arm

You don't need to machine the arm, you can use a hacksaw and care, and then draw file the pivot ends nice and square ;)

Cheers kayla is there no way I can run my R6 shock??
I am not sure if I am getting the shock with the arm aswell if not I will leave it out for my other build I got in line.

Will the wheel fit in the 3TJ arm though?

You can cut the bracing out, but then why bother with a YZF arm in the first place? The YZF wheel is too wide for the 3TJ arm :geek:
