nc30 not starting, no major faults?

Hi guys.
My vfr nearly had an MOT on Monday the 23rd, it didnt make it because the poor thing wouldnt start, although it started on the previous Friday, and i let it run until it was up to temperature. So far in my spare time, I have cleaned all the spark plugs, they are all sparking fine, taken the carbs off and sprayed the two jet's inside with carb cleaner. The air filter is not blocked, gave that a clean.
The only thing (that I can think of) that may be affecting the engine starting, is the fuel, as it has been sitting in the tank for quite a while. On Monday, I put a Tenner's worth of fuel in just to see if it made a difference, but no luck. The engine turns, but doesn't kick in. It splutters on some occasions, but after 5 or so minutes of trying, the battery begins to die so I stop. I havnt had time to empty the tank and check the fuel tap to see if It's clogged, I think that will be the next step this evening.
If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated, this bike has been in my possession since last April, only recently passed my module 2 and was hoping to have it on the road by the beginning of February
Thanks in advance!
