Seized Carb Screws!

Just following the Carb Jetting Guide, and have got to the point where I'm taking the carb slide covers off. Some of the screws are coming undone ok, but some are well and truly seized. Not wanting to round off the phillips heads. What's the best way to go about getting these out?
Is it just a case of squirting some WD40/GT85 and let it soak for a while? didn't want to jump in feet first as carbs are a bit of delicate thing...
Pleased I'm following the guide, Emulsion tubes were all back to front and pilot screws were screwed all the way in...

I had had same problem alot of times, quickest and easiest way, get some mole grips and clamp them round the head little tug and they will come loose, doesnt damage the screws so your safe there :D

As above then replace them with allen head screws, rick oliver sells a kit. The original screws need a special japanese screwdriver, JIS type i think there called although a posidrive usually does the trick

If you go with allen heads be careful when you tighten them up as you can easily over tighten and crack the carb body.

Yes there a JIS size #2, the screws can be quite tight and unless you have the proper screwdriver it's very easy to round them off.
With the proper screwdriver it wont' camout when putting a lot of force on to undo.

Cheers guys, i'll give the posidrive and mole grips a go, and throw a little patience and care in there.
Hopefully they will give in and come out...

I found a #2 posi Snap-On screwdriver is the exact pitch and size for these
