Re: tax disc
If its still in date then Technically yes, as you have paid the tax.
You will need to inform the DVLA though, as any police checks would show no tax.
Why did you sorn it then decided to put it back on the road? I usually only sorn a bike if its tax is due, but it doesn't have mot etc, or if I'm after a refund of the tax itself.

Re: tax disc
as hunter said, why sorn if its taxed that just confusing lol.
If your bike is taxed there is no need to sorn it.
If you sorn it due to not having insurance then im still confused lol my bike hasnt had insurance for 4 months now but still got tax and i havent sorn it.

Re: tax disc
maybe OP did not have money for insurance at that time? that new law about tax without insurance (even if not riding) == fines and/or jail

Re: tax disc
The new law is silly. I have just had to SORN my bike because I dont insure it over winter either and I do a pay by month insurance. I sent my tax disk off for a refund though, which is such a waste of time and money.
As for the DVLA not sending you a letter or anything, dont think that doesnt mean when you come to sort your bike out to ride in spring they wont suprise you with a £100 fine. The law is no longer innocent until proven guilty.

Re: tax disc
Well i will be insuring my bike at start of febuary so will find out then lol.
I normally always have tax and insurance on my bike, like to keep my insurance going all year round to build up my no claims
