Hi all,

Must be my bike but i'm having major problems removing my carbs. I've disconnected the choke cable, and was trying to undo the jubilee clips that hold the carbs to the inlet rubbers and i've managed to undo the left and right hand side screw. However, as you all know, space is very limited when trying to undo the jubilee clips for the 2 middle carbs, my problem is I cannot see the screws for them anywhere, it seems they are inaccessible as they must be facing the front of the bike and are out of view???

Anyone else had this problem, was thinking to just rag them off but don't want to split the inlet rubber.

dont just rag them off!!
the clamps(or jubilee clips) cant go on backwards,so the screws must be there..
get the longest star u got and look harder..u will find them

23 or 29???

IIRC on the 29 you take the carbs off by undoing the top jubilee on 2 of the carbs and the bottome jubilee on the other 2 (I think its upper on the outer and lower on the inner)

Just yoinking them off is unlikely to do any damage as your carb rubbers will be hard and fucked and due to be replaced by now anyway......one of the best things I ever did was buy new carb rubbers.

tanuki is right in the sequence to take them off if its a 29. I found a long screwdriver at Homebase that was perfect, put through the air vent holes, this is also the best way to view where the screw is in good daylight. Be aware that if you go for new rubbers that the Chinese ones may not fit, they didnt for me anyhow.

Will have a look later on and post back. My bikes a nc29 '91. Due its major service, so I'm wanting the ultrasonic clean the carbs at work, dial them in with a vacuum gauge and then do valves, plugs, oil, etc....

Can't wait for summer with the new powdercoating that's planned, should look the dogs danglies once i've done all my planned 'winter upgrades'.

is that a K-Conversions kit?

When i took mine off for the first time a few weeks ago i made the mistake of undoing the ones carb side on the outer two and engine side on the inner two carbs! Pulling away for ages thinking why the hell won't they come off. Make sure its the carb side ones your undoing , you should be able to feel them.

No, its a cbr 600rr bodykit that has fabricated mounts and fixings for. Fits like a glove.
