In this diagram there are 4 washers between the spindle and the brush assembly. My starter motor, however, only has 1 washer there.

Does anyone know the dimensions so that I can buy some/ get them made?

Pretty sure they are just shims to control end float. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
If you do want some more just copy the 1 you have.
I can't remember how many mine had qhen i serviced it over xmas - 3 i think.
