okay, so today i saw my bike for the first time in two weeks since i dropped it...i noticed that the fuel hose has a large crack in it and its leaking onto the ground rather than going into the engine.....so i went to try and take my pillion seat off to get the sear fairings off and then the tank so i can fix the hose. but i just simply cant get it off.....it doesn't have a lock mechanism, i just stuck my finger in the hole and pushed up the lever in there to free the seat..but now it wont work...could i have damaged the entire thing when i dropped the bike? are there another way of getting the pillion seat removed? cheers.
i know it sounds stupid, but ive tried pretty much everything and i just cant get it off..

Have u taken all the screws out from around the fairing? Also I know non original fairings are different but on mine it fits round the rear light and the light needs to be detached before it'll come off.
Does it budge at all?

I remember having this problem years ago, well atleast i think it was on a NC. Id managed somehow to put the rear seat on wrong so the lock mechanisum wouldnt release it. I cant remember the exact details of what id done but i had to access the latch from underneth or through the rear light. Sorry thats not of much help my memorys not too great these days

but you basically need to release the latch.

Try pulling the cable from underneath the fairing, that's worked for me before.

No you can get to it if you fiddle around with your fingers.
Do you have standard exhaust?
When i binned mine (it was at 50mph though) i bend the rear subframe quite badly.. didn't notice at first.. made seat hard to release.
When you press the locking lever up try keeping it pressed but pushing the rear seat downwards and jiggling it at the same time.
if not pull the cable hard.
