Restoration question?

Does anyone know what finish is used on the OE Honda bolts, nuts, brackets etc? Ive had a few bits done in what they call a silver blue finish but to be honest they look a bit bling. Are they even zinc coated or is something else used?

Do you mean that drab olivey colour they use on everything?
My uncle has managed to replicate the Honda finish perfectly.. after a lot of faffing about with different coatings.
They are indeed zinc coated but it's a strange mix of plating and finishing chemicals
When you zinc coat something after the process you put it in another solution, I forget what it's called... pacifating or something to finish it off... depending on whats in the solution the parts come different shades.
Theres bound to be a commercial plater aroud somwhere that replicates it.
If not after you've plated the stuff mix up some paint and dip them, it's easy enough to get the shade with paint

Olive drab is the finish, Redditch Plating will do small items such as those, and also plate nuts/bolts close to the original silver finish, but a bit brighter [cadmium/zinc?]

No, Redditch near Birmingham.
A friend used them, they seem reasonable.
He laid the small items on a sheet of paper and drew round them, then photographed it and sent a copy with the parts to avoid any loss.
