I'm looking for a trottle position sensor for my NC35.
A friend of mine told me that the CBR400 might have such a sensor.
Can anyone confirm that?
If yes, do they alle have, or is it only selected years?

why do you want TPS for a 35?

I'm using the ECU of Chris from Dynopro Racing, and Chris has set it up with a map which takes the advance of a TPS.

I don't expect big difference but it seems like a nice litte project for the winter :D

how did you get on with this lange as i have RVF carbs on my nc30 and was considering following your footsteps if it's worth it ...

The NC29 TPS was way too big to fit the NC35.

Was i worth it? Yes. Not more highend power of cource, but a lot of midrange power. The touque curve is absolutely flat between 7000 and 12500 revs/min. The bike pickup the power much quicker out of the corners.

A friend of mine has a RLR stage 3 tuned RVF. Before the TPS he was dissapearing in the distance every time we came to the straight on the track. Now it is the other way arround, and my engine is alsolutely stock inside except for the NC30 gearbox and the GIXXER generator.

Some concerns: You need a ECU which accepts the TPS and you will spend a lot of hours on the dyno (expect 25+ runs) before the work is done. I was so lucky that Chris had done a lot of runs on RVF's with the same setup as I have on my RVF, so he had found a good ignition map and loaded it to the ECU before shipping it to me. This saved me for many hundreds of £

Your engine is a NC30 with NC35 carbs, so I would expect you will need a different map to get the best form the TPS

I've been trying to work out how to retro fit my std TPS to the flatslides to get maximum out of the HRC box, but it never occurred to me there were aftermarket jobbies.

IS there anything I should be aware of, or check/specify prior to buying one? Or one similar to this?

Only the size.
Particularly the V4s have limmited space for it.
And of course the box must have a TPS input.

After much head scratching and looking around for a suitable TPS I have managed to fit one to my flatslides today.

I ended out going to a car EFI specialist and we managed to find a position sensor that comes off one of the locally made cars that will do the job. Which meant it was only $50 (Smidge under 25 pounds to you lot) plus some alloy lying around the shed to make a bracket.

Sweet, one more little job off the list for my little banger.
