NC30 Click sound on braking

I'm sorting out suspension issues and I get a click sound from that front that is also sensed through the handlebars when braking hard and another click when I stop braking. The click comes not at the beginning of the braking but seems to enter at a certain fork compression. Front also feels very soft but does no bottom out. I weigh about 85kg. Could it be that the headrace bearing is making the noise? I changed the front break system as a unit recently (calipers, pipes, master cylinder to a very good condition used original one) but that did not eliminate the click. The headrace bearings were changed about 10000km ago together with the front and rear wheel bearings and the rear wheel bearing disintegrated and came out in pieces two weeks ago, how long are these parts supposed to last, surely more than that right? What kind of suspension upgrade do you recommend? I want to keep the front end original except for internals and don't have much money.

The front brake discs are 'floating'

They click / rattle when applying the brakes sometimes.

Check the head bearings for any play in them

indeed, if its' suddenly started then it's likely to be something worn, headbearings, fork bushes.. i've had clikcing ones before.

Do you get the noise on every heavy brake application or only after a few repeated applications and everything has warmed up.

Mudguard brackets, there known for making that noise when worn. Id check your head race bearings first tho

Maybe the pads are moving within the caliper? I've had this before.
