Can somebody help me please? I fitted an original NC35 exhaust and end can to my RVF400 a few weeks ago. I had to force the end can into position to bolt it on to the rear mount. I was wondering if this is dangerous because it is a bit stressed?

Please can somebody help me out by answering my question. I am a bit worried that it might be dangerous, as I the end can strap might break?

It's no big deal, fairly usual. The stress won't affect too much.

It's caused by either a bent exhaust hanger, bent subframe or the exhaust pipes are not in the correct position for it.

As cammo said.. bent exhaust or more likely subframe from crash damage.

When I binned mine on the way to motegi the exhaust lined up fine (as it was still bolted to the subframe) but from the rear of the bike the subframe was visibally bent to the right by a few inches.

Brought a new straight subframe and the exhaust doesn't fit at all now.

Had to use the Yamamoto system as it has a moveable hanger.

So long as you can bolt it up and it's not blowing then I wouldn't worry too much.

If you really want to fix it, if it's the exhausts then buy a new rear section, if its' the subframe replace that. Might be a bit of both.

I think I will leave it as the strap isn't likely to break under stress.

I have the exact same problem here, only my stock hanger fits fine. I bought a Tyga carbon hanger and the hole is about 3cm off :S
