NC23 - To fix, or not to fix...

The fairings on my NC23, are well...looking like 24yr old fairings that they are...and I'm getting past the nostalgia of having oem original fairings(as far as I'm aware they all are) because the belly pan area where the exhausts pipes are, are held by zip-ties...also I wanted a 600rr since I moved back to the country and I'm getting to the point where soon as my contract extends or i get a new job I'm just going to get finance or get a bank loan and get it, so it's either save my money to try pay off the RR asap, or will the NC23 not sell well with the fairings as they are? They're not bad but it happens to be everywhere where they hold together or to the bike that's the problem, well not everywhere obviously but you know what I mean...to a perfectionist like myself it just won't do, so since you can't get oem fairings it's Tyga the bike, which will take ages to afford, or go for the RR, which i will find cheaper this time of year, seeing really good 04's(sometimes from dealers themselves) for less than 03's-sold-by-dealer prices, seen an 07 for an amazing price, only 2k on it, sparkling original condition, but i wouldn't push the figure in my head to that(although only a few hundred extra).

So what do you guys think? My bike will take work to get it to my standard which is the problem, since my standard is 110% asap. I do sink money into bikes it's my thing, I don't mind that, it's just which way to sink it at this junction lol

Also I know fairing fixer-uppers are out there but I really don't want a patch job, if the plastic's don't match the bond will eventually loosen over time, there has been a fibreglass patch attempt on the right hand side which has gone that way but is holding for now...

If I tyga'd it, I'd need this straight away before any of the rest, at £450 odd, not something to wave a stick at  I work 7 days a week at the moment, just hope the neighbours i borrowed jump cables from when i first got the bike(been sat mostly sorn) will lend me the tools or i'd have to buy tools as well!

It sounds like you really want the 600rr so why not sell the 400 as it is and let someone else enjoy it for what it is. From the look of it its an ok example of an unmolested 20+ year old bike that needs some tlc.

Yea its just naturally I want as much as possible for it if I sell since I'm not rich and money to put into the finance and bring the payments down is always great, mechanically the bike rides well, NC's definitely accelerate faster than my RVF ever did in South Africa. I do have a brand new Renthal front sprocket and going to get brand new renthal rear and brand new renthal SRS chain(think the chain will be overkill for a 400 so nobody will ever complain about such a chain haha) I'd throw them in with the bike so I'm sure it should sell overlooking the fairings...i hope 8-) may also throw in a K&N oil filter as dunno when that was done either and the tyres are brand new bridgestones basically just worn in, though going on finance for an RR is a risk...I'm a temp :(
