As the title really! I was looking for a company that exchanges shocks for the NC30.

Any info or help would be appreciated :D

Mark Hammond at MH Racing (01225 811583) does a very good job of rebuilding/refurbing the stock Showa shocks. It`s not an exchange service but if you don`t want to have your bike off the road I can sort you out with a cheap s/hand shock to keep you mobile...

when you say refurbing/rebuilding rick what does that all entail ?
if i where to sent over a 91+ shock with remote res and ask to have it rebuilt etc would it come back like a new shock,suited to my weight and as good as aftermarket stuff ?

It wouldn't be suited to your weight, as that would take a whole day of having you ride the bike and slowly adjusting it to be perfect. It can't really be done by someone who's taken the shock away. He'll most likely re-gas the remote reservoir, check the seals and replace those that need replacing, and maybe replace the spring if it needs it.

so it's suited for my weight .....settings would be different from rider to rider plus different road surfaces will change settings so i know someone in a workshop couldn't do the setings but if the spring was anywhere near my weight it would be a good start in the right direction

am interested too rick. a nice refurb could be the better option for my track nc instead of all the other guff i would have to do, or spend. would they go as far to play with the damping system holes to suit new spring and weight. i am a heavy fecker at 14 stone. if it still keeps our interest rhory, could send them off together?

Just talked to the fella Rick mentioned, and the price is £150 per shock, plus p&p. I am now saving £75 for the next two months, and will avail myself of the service at the end of said period. w00tage! :)

i ask about this before, and its not easy to revalve the standard units, what that chap say Brainchild?

how come no-one has mentioned maxton .. ?

i contacted them about the suspension on my ZXR, they said they'd re-spring it according to my weight and intended use of the bike, and re-valve it so it worked, for £130 + vat ..

they'll also re-spring and re-valve the forks for £250 + vat

the website doesnt list the re-working prices, just contact them with the make/model of the bike + rider weight and use of the bike (road/track/race/pillions etc )
