I bought the bike knowing it wasn't in the best condition. The rev counter wasn't working so I took a closer look and found a few loose plugs and cut wires just hanging out there. The problem is none of the colours seem to match the either of the wiring diagrams I've been able to find. For example the wires in to the rev counter are pink, green and brown and the diagram says G, Y/Gr and B/Br. Are there alternative diagrams for different models maybe or do you think the wiring has been redone? None of the lights are stock so obviously something has been done

If it' an nc30 then it doesn't sound like it's the original tacho.

Well I've got no reason to think it doesn't work, the wiring in the area looks like a real stuff up so could just be that. Anyone know why the tacho looks so similar to original?

The problem is the wiring is not just bad there its a mess everywhere and because the colours are different to the wiring diagram, for the most part, I don't know where to start?

On a side note: I'm gonna pressure clean the bike before I get started with rejet, valve clearance etc... Is there anything I shouldn't whack with the cleaner? Besides radiators.

I'd avoid any electrical connectors and any bearings. Although personally I wouldn't pressure wash it.

Well maybe Il just do it from a distance, its nice because it gets soap in all the hard to reach places.

I would like to identify this tacho, on closer inspection I don't see any loose wires for it specifically, is there a test to see if its working?

looks like gullarm or early blade clockset.
remove and replace with correct items.

I'd clean it by hand. Safer.

This bike is far from standard and there is a good chance the tacho works so why would I spend the money?
