Now i'm getting a little older and a bit wiser, i now realise that my little nc should be taken back to almost standard, (not that it ever was) but that means a lot of bits n bobs need doing, just a quick list of what it needs,

new lower rad,
new panels, the ones fitted are cheap fiberglass ones and are starting to show their age,
refitting of the original rear panels (need lugs for the seat fixing),
new front mud guard,
some connectors need replacing on wiring loom,
wheels re-powder coating,
new rear brake disc,
new mirrors as one got smashed (stupid pigeon)

Some of these are easy to do or get sorted but being a UK bike i'm in two minds on how far i go with this, as i have currently got most of my disposable income going into the wedding fund its a tight budget so will doing bits and pieces here and there, but i do want to restore it to its former glory, just wondering if any one has got any advice on restoring this little bikes as this will be the first full restoration i have ever done.

what i stupidly did to it!!!

i will say, unless you have the service card, handbook and all the nice bits that come to the first owner of a NC30 then think twice.
Even if things like mirrors are replaceable in time (undertray will be a problem though) and the other UK bits and brackets, then i wouldnt bother. it will never achieve a great value unlike one that has all the right parts - assuming you are doing it to sell in the future.
if just to keep and carry on using, then fairings are a must, mirrors ideally, but not really a problem with things like the undertray and indicators - and lets be honest your average guy wont have a clue whats original and whats not. only you will know if its right or not.

I would never expect to get top cash for it, i only paid £1400 for it 6 years ago but back then i didn't realise what i had. in fact it wasn't till i joined this forum did i no i had a uk model.

My aim is to at least getting it somewhere close but like you said CRM its near impossible to source original uk parts as i have already found.
I did keep the original back end, all the panels, sub frame, undertray ect so that just needs refitting looking to get it back to this at least:

Looks much better in that pic... remove that big VFR though.. draws too much attention..

it'd be nice if the VFR logo was white.
