Right so the problem is Ive got the standard speedo cable with a digital converter plugged into the back of the RX1n

The setting options I have are wheel circumference between 1000-2500, with sensor points 1-6

According to digitalspeedos guide you have to spin the wheel one revolution and see how many times the cable turns. In this case its 1 turn of wheel = 2.5 turns of cable. Its then said you have to times this figure by 6 to get the correct number of sensor points is 2.5 x 6 = 15

So the wheel has a circumference of 2001mm and sensor point 15.

I can only set the sensor points to a max of 6.

Even if I work it out as a ratio I get about 800 to 6 which is now lower than the smallest wheel circumference setting.

Anyone if one fitted know how they have it set up? Or can anyone think of any clever ways to reduce the ratio of cable turns to wheel. As not only is the speed quite a way off so it the odometer.

right from memory that formula your using to get the wheel diameter doesn't sound right, your on the right lines but that wasn't how I done mine. I'll have to dig out my instructions but the formula is just to work out the wheel diameter and nothing to do with setting the sensor point, that would just be set on what ever pick up your using surely? In your case of the front sprocket so there should be a sensor point for that.

Just remembered the formula is better explained in the instructions for acewell units which I'm sure you can down load from their website

Ah no the formula is to work out the number or sensor points as obviously if you use the magnets on the wheel you get 3-4 pickups for the sensor, which will be converted to pulses for the dash to register and convert to speed.

According to the website using the sprocket with the analoge to digital conver you have to calculate the number of sensor points to input.

The wheel diameter is calculated using tyre aspect ratio, rim diamter and pi! Comes in at 1943mm give of take a few mm for tyre compression.

I wonder if there is any sort of firmware update for them as a couple of other settings seem alittle different to others.
