just got a set of disks, went out side to loosen off the disk bolts ready for when i borrow a stand for the job later (mates)... to see that i wont be undoing the bolts as they are going to ring out!
phoned bike shop to book it in for them to change the disks & the chap said nah you'll never get them out, they are Alloy & been in for how many yrs?.....
are they alloy? & why the f**k is a soft metal holding the one thing that stops me on my bike?
ANNNDDDD... can i fit stainless instead?

Alloy disc bolts.... i very much doubt it.
I take it by "ring out" you mean you've rounded off the heads?. Id just cut a slot in the bolt or force a torx head into them and use an impact driver to free them up, it'll make life easier if you have the wheel flat on a work bench.
Yes you can use stainless bolts, mild steel are stronger but stainless will be fine. Loctite 3 of the bolts when refitting.
