Resistor mod

Hello chaps,

I have taken the clocks off a NC30 track bike I am putting together, and as you aware probably aware the bike now misfies at about 5500rpm.

I have the resistors to sort this out but can't find any info as to which wires to splice it in to. I want to do it at the CDI end as I will probably be tidying/ stripping the wires back at the front end.

I have done a quick search but can't find anything.

Any help greatly appreciated.

i asked the same question months ago and like you found it very hard to get a straight answer,in the end graeme france helpped me out and this is how i did it.

cut the orange/blue wire coming from the cdi, solder one side of the resistor onto the cdi side of the orange/blue wire and splice the other end into the black/white wire, leave the black/white wire continuing on the loom but cut the orange/blue.

is is of course if you have an nc30,i think the nc35 is similar but check before you do it

In case it needs further clarification, what you need to do is feed a 12v supply which is live when the ignition is on into the orange/blue wire of the ignition box via a 2.2K resistor. This keeps the ignition box in the `sub 180kph` mode.

I have plenty of those resistors in stock if you need them - for road applications I also supply a `plug & play` resistor which clips into the harness behind the speedo...

Does it even need a resistor? Our track bike just has a wire link.
