Bandit 400 Ground/Earth Point?

So a while back I found that there are two wires that I labelled that go to the battery. Now I've been rebuilding it I have three wires left to attach. Battery positive, battery negative and, err ... battery negative.

One is quite long so I am thinking its an earth but why would I label it as a battery negative? I'm guessing the shorter negative is for the battery as is the short positive but anybody got any idea where this wire goes or where the earth point is?

If anyone has a bandit 400, can you shed some light please

Help much appreciated

Hi, i would say one is the battery negative, has a smaller wire with a spade connector that fits on to the loom BLK/WTE, other end fits on the bolt that holds the starter onto the engine. The other is probably the starter motor wire that fits starter to starter solenoid.

Cheers for the reply mate.

I actually found the starter motor wire under the bench so connected that from the starter relay to the motor and thats fine. I still have these two wires.

A guy on another forum told me he has two wires going to his battery negative...?

And surely if I labelled it battery negative, it came from there? Just seems quite long, thats all.

I am almost certain one is a battery negative as it has like a battery terminal on it but the other just has a usual connecter where you put the bolt through and tighten it up (like the oil pressure sensor, starter motor etc.)

Yeah so I am not sure which it is but I think it is definitely one or the other. Don't know if there was two wires going to the starter motor as father disconnected that... :?

Cheers for the help!

Sure mine only has one neutral wire, like you say it has the terminal fitting and is long enough to reach the bolt at the rear of the starter motor. Someone could have fitted a frame earth but i dont think it was standard.

But that bolt goes to your battery negative, right?

Think I'm just gonna whack it on there when it is all together and see, because I labelled it battery negative, surely I wouldn't have done that wrong? :?

Soon see!
