Well good people keep your fingers crossed but that nice Mr Bendy3 sold me a set of carbs that were identical to mine, thought 5 mins just pushed them into the rubbers and just pushed on the air box. A few starts later and it was running and it sounded different? I then actually rode it up the road where I live!!!
I am gobsmacked! I have to sort out fan etc yet and my liquid rubber came from USA to coat the rubbers with. I am bloody frightened to touch it now!

Just one thing, the first couple of times of trying to start it sounded like the starter was ripping bits of the engine out an then it just worked normally. Never made a noise like that before and was ok afterwards? Do I know have a problem with the starter clutch or something?

Seems like I still have a cooling fault but I hope to take it out tomorrow and will report then.
