RVF fuel tap

Thought I'd start another thread because it's the other end of the tank!
Got the bike running after three years dormant, splash of fuel and put the tank back on. After it fired (couple of minutes), I let it get up to temp and then turned it off, at which point I noticed the hiss of leaking fuel dribbling on to hot exhausts :roll: , will investigate the leaky tap tomorrow but in the mean time;

There's three tapped holes on the bottom of my tank, two for the fuel tap and one for.....? Not sure. Any ideas?

If it is anything like the NC30 tank, then 2 holes for the tap itself and 1 for a bracket that wraps around the selector switch that I'm not entirely sure what its purpose is!? I'm guessing it is to prevent you from bending the switch down too much when changing positions and damaging the tap maybe?

Ohhh maybe, the switch bit is pretty long and unsupported, makes sense! Haven't seen that bit laying about in the workshop. Thanks!

Spot on. The third hole is for that little bracket. Just been looking on eBay for fuel taps and there were brackets on there if you want one. For £8.50!!!! I would just avoid being a hamfisted idiot and do without one! lol ;)

Bargain, was £9.99! Can't really see how it would support even. Sure it'll be fine as it is

He took £4, might stop it wobbling about and leaking in the future :)
