hi
been reading a few posts which mention restrictions on nc29's.
What does the restrictor do and is there a way i can tell if mine has had it removed?
Bikes not running atm otherwise easy answer would be take for ride lol
Mine is cbr400RRR.
THanks

You will find the 33bhp restrictors normally in the carb rubbers next to the cylinder head. metal discs with around 1/3 size holes cut in them. If your bike struggles above 10000 revs that could be an indication they are fitted. Dont confuse them with the ones fitted as standard to the R model which are for 53bhp and have far larger hole in them.

soryy i'm confused now !
It hasn't got discs in the carb inlets - what restricts the bike to 53bhp, is that its max power or is there an additional restrictor fitted?

Once you take them out it should give you the normal nc power, maybe 60bhp. Only other restriction is in the speedo, search the forum for info on that

Hi,
searched nc29 restrictor, 1 post mentions fitting a km/mph convertor, which by chance i have already fitted, not to derestrict but just to read mph,
What mph should I expect with this fitted?

By fitting the MPH converter you automatically remove the derestriction as the bike will never get up to the point in MPH where the restriction cuts in. You should expect around 130mph top speed

Hi Yakama,
thanks,
I had no idea that was how the restrictor worked, can't wait to get this little bike sorted and out on the road !
cheers
