NC23 Failing to start when hot

Hello all,

1988 NC23. Starts first time when cold, no choke required but when the bike gets up to temp it struggles to tick over and when it dies it struggles to start up again. Leave alone for about 2-3 mins and then apply about 10% throttle and turn it over on the starter motor for about 30 seonds and it will eventually fire up. When it does eventually start it needs to clear it's throat before it will rev at all. However the bike runs perfectly when you're riding, this is only on tickover which is set to about 1100 rpm.

I'm thinking mixture setting on idle jets but lean it in or richen it out??

cheers,

C

Check the valve clearances and idle jet settings.

Plus after that balance the carbs.
