So ive finally got the bike road legal

went out for the first time last night on it, few teething problems the big one gear selection....
When its warm its impossible to select neutral and the gears rite through the box are very clunky, as soon as i turn it off i can select neutral no problem. any common faults?
Only other minor problem is a spark escaping somewhere and loosing power but i think thats a case of new leads. Any suggestions to a good make?
Any information would be much appreciated cheers folks.

these bikes can be a bit finicky selecting neutral(try searching other threads about this) . but first thing to check is the dot on the gear shift lined up with the shaft ok ?
is clutch properly adjusted ? too much free play at lever means clutch not fully disengaging can cause drag and make it harder selecting neutral .
is drive chain adjusted ok ? an over tight chain doesnt help gear selection also.
dont really understand what you mean by spark escaping when you say losing power ?

Agree with davethetrucker comments regarding gear changing, NC30 do not appear to have the smoothest of gearboxes and finding neutral can be a challenge. Best to go for neutral as you come to a stop. Might want to check oil level as well, can make changes worse if low.
Also as davethetrucker said, "don't really understand what you mean by spark escaping when you say losing power".

Have you tried measuring the resistance yet?
It's really not that hard.

Add to that a too loose chain and lubricate the gear lever on it's pivot.

This is a common fault with this gearbox,
Blip the throttle when selecting nuetral. You will soon learn to live with it.

Your quite rite... nothing wrong just me being a big wooose..
As for the spark i can hear the spark arking out on another part of the engine and its as if you turn the ignition on and off. Almost certain its a worn lead just dont no witch one job for a rainy day i think.
Thanks for all the advice guys...

I had a Honda engined car once that when you opened the bonnet at night with it running it looked like Blackpool Illuminations. 50k miles and all the leads were shot. You could forget trying to start it if it was damp.
