Am doing the Manx GP as we speak and just wanted to thank everyone who has given me advice sent parts on here. I have spent £4500 on the bike in the last 6 weeks and that is not including the cost of doing the manx itself!
Will let you know how I get on in the newcomers B race(No47).
She is a safe 78.8bhp could have got quite a bit more but wanted to be safe and last the distance. First time out Monday as Saturday was cancelled, if I get time I will let you all know how I get on.
Once again a very, very BIG thanks.
(Still dont know how to post pics!)

78.8bhp
that's gotta be 20bhp (at least) on top of what a 20yr old standard bike will push out
hold on tight and good luck

That's about right for a race bike in reliable trim, much more and it gets a bit more fragile

granted but it never ceases to amaze me how much you can wring out of such a small motor, that's about a 1/3 of the original power and with reliability of sorts
if you did the same to an R1 it'd be a top flight WSB
and i bet the FZR 400 would be more fun

Yes but an R1 is in a higher state of tune to begin with

Things didnt go to plan. First of all the bike wouldnt fire, no spark after the engine refresh. Got new loom from bdk on tues before i was supposed to be in paddock. Did one lap first practice to run here in and had a moment at may hill!(link at bottom. Dont laugh, I did!lol at 52secs). Second practice took it easy as didnt want to push the engine. 3rd day wet practice and nearly went into the wall at braden so pulled in at union mills. And final practice go to Kirk Michael to see a mate of mine spread eagle over the floor. So just costed back. Horrible practice. Race day and found the set up was way off and as I hadnt had one lap she seemed to be all over the place with suspention settings. And it took me a while not to think she was going to spit me off. Then the rain came for the final lap and I just wanted a finish, so I gave every single marshal a wave and posted my fastest lap.
Looking back getting her back with one day to go was really bad planning, and the way practice week went I nearly pulled out of the race. But because of costs I just wanted a finishers medal and not to let my pit crew down.
I have listed my bike on here for sale I have spent on top of what I paid for her £4500 in the last 6months but know I wont get my money back. Change of plans and the fact I would love to see a good rider give her the beans she deserves.
One thing I will say, I would recomend doing the Manx I learnt a hell of a lot about myself than about riding my bike.
