Ey up...

Got to fill my NC35's cooling system today. Can anyone confirm if the following steps are OK?

Loosen bleed screw (to avoid getting air in system)
Poor in 66/33 mix of water/coolant until it fills the system
Tighten bleed screw
Top up reservoir with same mix to level

Any dumb mistakes here?!?

Also, how stupid would it be to use tap water? Is distilled absolutely necessary? And what's the capacity of the rads - how much coolant should I buy?

run the bike up to temp with the radiator cap off topping up the system slowly as you go . blip throttle several times to get any airlocks out the system .would use bike specific silkolene pro-cool premixed or similar rather than car anti-freeze if possible. the bleed screw you refer to ? if thats the one on the water pump then thats just a drain bolt do it up first or you will end up with wet feet. from memory i think system takes about 2.5 litres to fill.

Technically you can use tap water but it all depends on the quality of the water where you live, and to be honest it's not worth the potential aggro, especially when good pre-mixed coolant is relatively inexpensive - you can pour it in and forget about it, I know I do...

Apart from that, the method that dave suggests is OK. I do the same.
