Since ive been messing about with carbs today i thought id try some 35 carbs i have but something seriously wrong with these ones. Would fuel pissing out the carb overflow pipes indicate worn float neadles or floats?
Float heights are spot on 12.5mm but look rough, fuel also drips down past the butterflies after they've been taking off the bike too so somethings not sealing, its not the float bowl gaskets letting go tho.

If it's coming out of the pipes it's as you've suggested, worn or sticking float needles or incorrect heights. As the floats are correct I'd strip and inspect the needles.

Cheers pal, im gunna order new floats, needle vales, gaskets etc for both 35 and 30 carbs. Im fed up with pissing in the wind with old carbs.

Nope. I'm hiding the extra set in my pants. No one goes in there so I know they're safe.

Normally only 1 at at time will leak, either worn needle or seating or grit under needle.
Check with Rick for gaskets and valves, Honda price about £80 a set per carb.
I have sealed the float bowl O rings with 3 Bond, do not use Silicon.
Dave.

been here before.
i bet it will be the needles are worn as mentioned. have a look at each one, make sure its the right one for the right seat (one at a time) get them mixed up and that can be the start of a world of pain as they wear together with the seat.
the 35 ones seem a little less had wearing over 30 ones, and if the finish looks pitted or dulled its knackered, also i bet the spingy top is either rusted or not smooth, oiling it helps for about 1 second till fuels added then back to normal.
i have a set of replacements for a 35 i bought new in april and never fitted. £30 ? ideally you owuld put them with new seats - but good luck to getting them out without goosing the carbs.
you ok setting float heights ? seen my diagram / cut out business card ? makes setting heights a doddle
