Not sure I understand your question but I have an nc29 dogbone (ie, just the ally bit which looks like a dogbone, not the linkage which is a different thing) in VGC going spare.

We a know the nc29 is naturally lower than the nc23.
My thinking is to swap the dog bones (yes the bone shaped bars) to make a nc23 lower.
Assuming that the bolt holes are the same..... Or if anyone knows it won't work?

Comprende.
I can certainly have a measure of the standard dogbone if nobody knows the measurements offhand, but the dogbone is at my dad's so might take me a while to get round to it.
Part of the difference will be the 18" rear wheel?

from the photos, the wheels dont look NC23.. they have several spokes (5?), the fitted ones have 3.

nc23 wheels have 3 spokes, the rear is 18".
nc29 wheels have 6 spokes, the rear is 17".
These look like painted nc23 wheels to me.

18 ".. darn! may see if i can swap the set for a 17" set with tyres!
ask me anything NC29 related & i'll tell ya... so back to square 1 learning the NC23..
me thinks its best now to wait till i get my hands on the bike before i can really plan things! i'm just not patient!

You can still run the 18 rear . I can reccommend the GPRa12s which are available in 18s. If you 17 inch it they scrape like hell cornering.
NC29 , NSR250,CBR600F2 and a few others all swap out and fit the NC23 swingarm ok. All have 6 spoke rims.

Wheels depend on if I can get the bike off side stand being short in the leg !
How do you mean scrape like hell?
I have 17" on my nc29 with no issues.... Standard I know
i had GPRs when i first got my NC29 9-7yrs ago.. excellent cornering, unstable/crap in windy conditions as they want to corner as soon as the bike leans (in to wind). i have been on Bridgestone BT092s for years.
