Cuts out when hot - Help!

After all the other problems, I've found a new one.
Took the bike out for a good run today, well 75 miles anyway, after about 50 miles it stopped, seemed to lack power, then died, turned to reserve all well and so filled up with new fuel. Up to this point it was running fine.
Rode home the scenic route, no apparent problems, back on main not reserve btw. Got home just about to run up the drive when it cut out, temperature gauge was in the middle, started it again and let go of the throttle and the revs just die, radiator fan cuts in, try again but the same result, it seems when its properly warm it won't hold an idle.
Any thoughts?
The vacuum tube is new, Honda original item.
Edit/update: Started it again after getting out of my gear and posting this and the idle was low, reset it and it now seems OK, I'm going to let it get seriously warm amd see what happens
I am beginning to think this bike could be jinxed
Update 2. been running for 15 minutes fans cut in a few times and it seems to be fine
