Replace the clocks - What to do with the speed restrictor?

I've bought two crashed 600 FZR, and i want to use the Koso RX1N clock for my 3EN2.
But what do i have to do to fix the rev problem?
It's just temporarily, (if i can get it street legal here in Germany, i will do a 400/600 conversion this winter) so a cheap solution will be welcome

Your best bet would be to fit a M-Max box or other plug-in derestrictor, when they come up they're about £30 or a CDI from the FZR400R SP 2TK for about £40-50.
Either of these can be sold on if you do a conversion.

I've thought the m-max box is just a resistor, and without clocks but with m-max the TCI gets the same signal as without clocks and will restrict to 12500rpm in all gears. Or is the m-max box wired internally to prevent this problem?

I don't really know what's inside them but they seem to work.

Easiest way is fit a mph speedo convertor as engine will cut out at 180kph
converted to mph it will obviously never get to 180mph.
The cheapest way is to get inside the speedo and remove the chip from the speedo and tape it up so it never makes a contact.
Takes a few mins once clock is off costs nowt.

The Japanese are cleverer than you think.
The CDI has to have a signal from the speedo at zero or it restricts to 12,5k rpm.
If the speedo doesn't go above zero, it restricts.

Spot on evil
so if you replace the clocks you must keep the chip
attatched to the loom.
I once bought an nc30 that did not rev out
we disconected the chip and no change
we got a chip out of a spare set.
Left the original chip in clock and kept spare attatched
and taped up. Sorted
No worries
