Amount of fork oil for 3EN2 400 ?

Post by sevenfourate »

Just ready to refill my forks (Going to try some 15w) and on searching have come up with 3 different amounts !

So far each leg requires 444ml,476ml or 493ml...........

Anyone confirm which is correct please ?

How about starting with the lower one then if it feels a bit bouncy (underdamped) try the next one up. If it's too much then use a syringe to take some out

Thanks.

After even more searching, and realising an FZR600 of the same era had the same forks (Just another angle to search Google with) it appears its actually 435ml per leg.

As im trying to stiffen the things up a bit i might just start at 450ml,and hope the seals dont blow.........

Most of the FZR600's have the earlier 38mm dia forks like the 3EN1. Yours are 41mm Dia, I don't know if these were used on the 3HE model 600, there were adjustable ones used on the 600R 4JH but they could be different inside.
