I'm fitting my cbr600rr6 shock soon and was wondering if there are any tips on how to fit the shock?
Surely the bike will just collapse when I take it out?

when i did mine put the bike on the paddock stand, take the rear seat panel off and using 2 rachet straps on the subframe onto the garage roof beams i supported the arse end, the paddock stand will just support the weight until you want to remove it.

Good idea!
Is there a procedure I should follow to remove it for instance remove with the lower linkage or just totally dismantle?

off the top of my head the exhaust gets in the way with the linkage, so it maybe worth removeing the exhaust rear section if not be prepared to spend alot more time fucking about as a result.

This is a great reason to have fixed rearsets. An axle stand under each one and your bike's going nowhere.
