Im french and as there is very few 400 bikes in france, im looking for world wide nc 30 experts...

I just bought a nc 30 for track use and i have a lot of question.
I bought it, even if i didn't see it run, but 1800€, i can spend a little money for improvements...

As I am a bit busy, reading a lot of pages on the forum, i post here many questions...

I have a home tuned nc 30 with stock engine, stock rear shock but
-complete front (fork brakes wheel) from Ducati 916
-rear wheel from RC 36 (17") on a modified nc 30 wheel hub with 160 tire, i put a nc 35 link to raise the seat

Questions:
- I first thought that i could remove the speedometer, to prevent speed limitation (if there is), by i read this morning that it shut ignition a rev. 5000 trs. Is that right. How could i bypass the speedometer? Do i am obliged to keep it on the bike and shut down the speed limiter?
-Compared to the front fork, the rear shock is really soft, but seems to be out. it's sounding like a air pump in quick release. Is my shock out of order? can i refurbish it or do i need to change it for a WP or equivalent?


I hope i will start the engine this week end, and i will ride it asap...

For others questions about engine modifing (carby, exhausts, etc...) i will post after my first run.

Yes you're correct, removing the speedo will make your bike run no higher than 500rpm. There are a couple of things you can do, the easiest is buy a £10 plug in override. Or there's a thread somewhere about making one for yourself for very cheap. Look for a member called leopard pagan, she was selling them a while ago.
Your rear shock is probably had it. It will be possibly 20 years old so has seen better days. Have it refurbished by a specialist for about £100 and it should be fine. Or again there other shocks that will fit but wil need some adapting like CBR600RR.

After looking on ebay for a derestriction plug, i think that i have already one, to be check...
But if i want to remove it, is it possible to follow the NC 30 Resistor Mod Instructions on the front page??? (ie with two resistors at speedo and CDI) and remove it

or just leave the electrical connector inside the speedo connected to the loom and tape it all up

You'll just need one at either end.

I've got one resistor plugged into where the speedo used to be, and the bike revs beyond 5,000 rpm, no problem. Make sure to attach the resistor well, though, as you don't want the it to come off at high speed...

To resume, only one resistor loop between blue/yellow and black/orange is enough to remove the speedo. Just a stupid question, 2K stands for 2k ohms, right ?
