NC24 Fuel Tap o-ring seal

I have another leak on my NC24 Fuel Tap
This time from the Stem where the cylinder turns to select On/Off/Res
The pics below show first the stem section pulled out a bit to show where the o-ring seal was before I removed it and the second pic is the seal.
Has anyone changed this seal before, if so is there a preferred part or is it a matter of getting a standard o-ring of this size -- approx inner diameter = 30mm, 2mm thick

I've changed this on my nc30, best to get the original part (or at least a viton fuel resistant o-ring replacement).
David Silvers is where I got mine.

Unfortuantly Honda only sell the NC24 tap as a complete unit.
Get some sheets of petrol resistant rubber the same thickness and cut your own with a stanley knife.
With these old bikes you have to make your own bits

Excuse the stupid quesiton - do you mean cut a length - whatever length to make ID of 30mm (2mm wide) from a rubber sheet and glue ends to make a cirlcle or cut a precision circlular o ring from flat rubber sheet.

i mean cut a circular ring from a piece of rubber.. dont' glue it!
Often a 2p or something circular makes a great template.. find something same size to cut around.. then poke a hole in the middle and use a pair of scissors to cut the middle out.. et-voila!
You might also be able to get gaskets / o rings already in the right size but I have tonnes of various thickness gasket papers and rubber knocking around so just make my own most of the time!

Thank you I might resort to making my own in the future.
I found a pack of 2 at Homebase the right size - O-Rings these are an not the quad ring that is in there(they are better apparently - something I've just learned) but I fiited one and all has been ok for the last 2 weeks
We will see - I switch fuel off and on every journey which will wear this out quicker than most. I do this due to the fuel tap mod that was done before I picked up the bike and before I had stripped carbs out fuel had got into oil so I don't want to risk this happening again.
So back on the bike again which is great

Did you drill out the rivets that held that cover plate on? I am having the same issue with my tap.

There are two sources. NRP from UK and All Balls from US.
Yes, you have to drill out the rivets. Drill completly through the tap housing and use screws to fix it again.

I bought a new tap from CMSNL. Might be worth checking.

Depends on the definition of "worth" …
200€ (and over 30 year old rubber parts) vs 20€ (new rubber and some work) for me it is a clear choice
