The Bim

My Bimota is on some other forums so if you've seen it be fore then there's nothing really new here.
The Bimota SB6 is a GSXR1100WN engine put into an Italian frame; carbon / kevlar / fibregalss mix bodywork; top spec suspension (for 1995); Marchicini wheels, Bembo floating iron rich discs; lots of cnc bespoke parts. Bimota saved about 40-50kg over the basic GSXR and the bike is lower but wider than my 400 with similar wheel base
These were about £16.5k when new and were compared to the RC45 and 916R, although those were better bikes. I bought the bike quite a while ago, it was in Derry, Ireland I caught a flight over with cash in my pocket and rode it back home to London. I remember the thrill of getting off the ferry in Liverpool and seeing the U-Boat in the docks.
Since then a whole lots happened and I've kind of rebuilt it I guess, here's the list
Race cans
Race carbon exhaust heat shield
Carbon frame protectors
Carbon rearsets
Dyna coils
Silicon HT leads
Later version side stand
Original (still in the wrapper) fairing
Second hand seat unit
Replaced the seat unit cam lock
Indicators cut into the mirrors
Replaced the head lights for H4 lamps on bespoke mounting
Brembo billet calipers
Brembo billet radial master cylinder
Relocated the brake resorvior
Replaced swing arm
Samco hoses
Gix 750W cams (they have the Yoshi profile from the later spec 1100W engines
JE pistons (1146cc 12.4 comp)
Gas flowed head
Camcoated engine internals
Camcoated exhaust system
Repaired stripped and repainted inside fairing
2 bodged resprays
1 bodged engine rebuild
Dyno tune matching a set of carbs to the race and road cans
Reprofiled Kent cams, head and a JE piston where junked when an exhaust vale let go.
It puts out about 150hp with noisy cans depending on the dyno.
Still to do :
Rebuild the suspension
Fit a Dyna2000 CDI and pick up kit (the CDI has switchable maps)
Have a look at the front binicle and maybe taylor it for a small battery
Rewire it to get everything tidied up
Rework the indicators, brake and tail lights
Sort out the paint
Pictures then ...
The pics from the e-bay ad

First respray

Sketch of the tail unit for the second respay

you can see why I asked for the number to be taken off, they sprayed in the grommets and generally did a sh!t job
